Caught the Al Gore documentary, An Inconvenient Truth. It’s worth checking out. He discusses how global warming has become a moral issue. This site also provides some things people can do to be more environmentally conscious.
Some great discussion on what it means for the church to be missional at Friend of Missional. [...]

My westcoast brother Rudy tagged me on this. So here I go…
1. A squirrel climbed into our first apartment from the fire escape. After a 5-second stare down I ended up running away and making a wierd shrieking noise. It was my first year of marriage, and my least masculine moment to [...]

Our cohort, the Latino Leadership Circle got together yesterday for a potluck Christmas celebration at the American Bible Society. From left to right we have Maritza Oritz, David Ramos, Sandra Otero, Belinda Passafaro, Luis Alvarez, Orlando Crespo, Jose and Mayra Humphreys. Good times, great laughs.

We must not seek the child Jesus in the pretty figures of our Christmas cribs. We must seek him among the undernourished children who have gone to be at night with nothing to eat, among the poor newsboys who will sleep covered with newspapers in doorways.

I received this book via author Tim King last week. I happened to be homebound due to knee surgery, so it was the perfect opportunity to read it through.
Furious Pursuit: Why God Will Never Let You Go looks at the whole notion of chasing after God, and essentially turns this paradigm on its head. [...]

1. The gospel needs to be re-introduced to many of us.
Many churched and de-churched folks still view the gospel as fire insurance, or a guaranteed ticket out of hell. The thing about this fear is it wears thin after a while. So my reason for going to church in the first place is [...]

Today I was telling my friend Ruben about a time some years ago I was heading to work-I was walking through the subway corridor when someone abruptly grabbed my arm. I had reacted by grabbing the person and banging them up against the wall. It turns out it was my terrified coworker who [...]

I’ve been talking with different church planters about the challenges of starting and pastoring multiracial congregations. This apparently works differently in different places. And congregations in each setting seem to find commonality in different areas such as class, profession and education. Some of these places find it difficult however to discuss issues of [...]
